Who
We Are
Vera
Frankl is an award-winning broadcaster
with a background in international news and current affairs. She
has produced hundreds of news reports, features, documentaries, and
documentary series for the BBC, NPR, CBC, Deutsche Welle, and Radio Netherlands. Based in London, she has reported from all over Europe and from India, where she covered the Bhopal disaster and the aftermath of Indira
Gandhi's assassination. She won a silver medal at the New
York Radio Festival for her documentary "Autumn Leaves," a
family love story set in the Hungarian revolution. Her Special Assignment for
the BBC on Algeria
was short-listed for an Amnesty Award. Her articles have appeared in The
Guardian, Le Monde, New York Times,
Christian Science Monitor, Toronto Globe & Mail, and various magazines in
Britain and the US. In
previous lives she worked as NPR's Europe
reporter, and as a senior writer for the BBC World
Service.
Rebecca Hodson is a radio producer
with over 15 years experience of programme-making for BBC Radio 4, Radio 5
and World Service, producing a wide range of programmes. She started her career in
commercial radio - winning a Sony Gold Award in
1993 for “Hot in the City”, an arts programme covering the Edinburgh festival on Forth FM. In 2000 she
was nominated for a “One World Media” award for BBC Radio 4’s “A Bitter
Pill”, an examination of the legal drugs industry around the world. Since
2001 she has worked primarily with Vera on programmes covering many issues
for the BBC, including “Call That Justice - America”,
an investigation into how the justice system in America treats children, which
was nominated for the inaugural BBC World Service
Radio Awards in February 2007.
